AGC offers complete heat exchangers, services as well as upgrades to plate packs, gaskets and spares that fit multiple brands. In addition, AGC offers Field Leak Testing and inspections of plate heat exchangers that meet the 3-A sanitary standard.
AGC Heat Transfer consists of three manufacturing/service facilities (Bristow, VA, Fairview, OR & Pleasant Prairie, WI) with about 110 employees (70 OR / 20 VA / 20 other locations). Currently, most of the sales are in the US & Canada. AGC Heat Transfer has a strong engineering culture with a heavy emphasis on customer service and technical/consultative sales.
Job Description
Based in Fairview, OR, the Production Supervisor drives production by coordinating the schedule of the Machine Shop and its employees. Utilizes knowledge of equipment, policies, procedures and specifications to maintain production schedules and to ensure that the group adheres to all standards and performance requirements including quality delivery and maintaining a safe work environment.
Successful candidates will have experience in building teams, coaching and mentoring direct reports, and implementing performance reviews, these are essential pieces of the position. Able to use Lean Production best practices (5S, Waste reduction, etc.) to drive continuous improvement within the organization.
This role supervises the day-to-day operation of the Machine Shop area within the Fairview plant including training and mentoring of machine shop personnel. Knowledge of both manual and CNC machining best practices required. Previous experience with stainless steel fabrication and machining desired. The Production Supervisor will be able to coordinate activities internally (working with other departments) and outside the organization (suppliers and customers) to efficiently meet production requirements.

Department Management
- Work with all other departments within the company (both production and support) to achieve overall company and departmental goals.
- Actively participate in continuous safety and production improvement efforts within the plant.
- Required to follow processes and make improvements to processes with management.
- Support Lead in creating detailed, daily production schedule.
- Support implementation and conduct daily production meetings with all team members.
- When needed support operators with immediate problem solving.
- Supports scrap and rework reduction by supporting red tag process and 5Y root cause analysis.
- Identify safety improvements and implement identified improvements.
- Close competence gaps by training/ coaching and using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Job Instructions (JIB’s).
- Generate required quality documentation, supporting Quality Engineer.
- Conduct daily work as an operator as needed to meet production goals.
- Must be able to understand, manage and report departmental metrics such as KPI’s, cost control, etc, in order to guide Machine Shop and Fairview Plant.

Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, technical or other education preferred.
- Previous success in leading a production team.
- Shop math skills: calculate feed speeds; H.S. level geometry & trigonometry.
- Forklift, overhead crane and Machine Shop equipment (CNC, Manual Mills, Lathes, etc.) experience required.
- CNC Mill Experience: 5+ years using Haas controls preferred.
- Able to work in and maintain a safe work environment.
- Able to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
- Good knowledge of SOP’s and processes with Computer skills including Microsoft Office,
- Understanding of Lean Production Concepts (5S, Kaizen, Kan-ban, etc)
- Previous experience with MRP/ERP concepts a plus.
- Ability to maintain daily HR responsibilities; timecards, time off approvals, etc.
- Ability to work as a partner with HR on follow up for employee improvement and discipline situations.
- Must be able to work with employees in setting goals, reviewing goals, writing reviews and presenting to team members.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
- Able to communicate fluently in English.
