Maintenance Technician for Tool & Dies

AGC Heat Transfer, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alfa Laval, AB, is the leading OEM of sanitary plate heat exchangers in North America, manufacturing plate heat exchangers specifically designed for sanitary applications. AGC offers complete heat exchangers, services as well as upgrades to plate packs, gaskets and spares that fit multiple brands. In addition, AGC offers Field Leak Testing and inspections of plate heat exchangers that meet the 3-A sanitary standard.
AGC Heat Transfer consists of three manufacturing/service facilities (Bristow, VA, Fairview, OR & Pleasant Prairie, WI) with about 115 employees (75 OR / 20 VA / 20 other locations). Currently, most of the sales are in the US & Canada. AGC Heat Transfer has a strong engineering culture with a heavy emphasis on customer service and technical/consultative sales.
Job Description
Based in Fairview, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude to assess mechanical assemblies and translate output part characteristics into action items for maintenance.
Position Responsibilities
- Inspect and Maintain Dies: Regularly inspect dies for defects, wear, and damage. Perform preventative maintenance to ensure smooth operation.
Repair and Replace Parts: Repair or replace defective or worn-out die parts using hand and power tools.
Adjust and Calibrate Machinery: Adjust and calibrate machinery and dies according to specifications to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot Issues: Analyze and troubleshoot equipment issues and execute repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with Production Teams: Work closely with engineers, machinists, and production personnel to ensure dies are ready and properly installed for production runs.
Document Work: Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for future reference and reporting.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Inventory Management: Order and manage inventory of die parts and tools.
Other specifically assigned tasks when needed by the Company.

Skills & Qualifications
Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred
High School diploma or GED required. Trade school or other secondary training/education preferred.
Strong knowledge of die maintenance methods, equipment, and tools for diagnosing and repairing die malfunctions.
Proven experience in millwright services, metalworking, and precision measurement.
Ability to safely utilize forklift and overhead crane lifting aids
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report issues.
Able to do repetitive work including walking, standing, lifting for extended periods of time.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
