Brief Company Description
AGC Heat Transfer, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alfa Laval, AB, is the leading OEM of sanitary plate heat exchangers in North America, manufacturing plate heat exchangers specifically designed for sanitary applications. AGC offers complete heat exchangers, services as well as upgrades to plate packs, gaskets and spares that fit multiple brands.  In addition, AGC offers Field Leak Testing and inspections of plate heat exchangers that meet the 3-A sanitary standard.
 
AGC Heat Transfer consists of three manufacturing/service facilities (Bristow, VA, Fairview, OR & Pleasant Prairie, WI) with about 110 employees (70 OR / 20 VA / 20 other locations).  Currently, most of the sales are in the US & Canada.   AGC Heat Transfer has a strong engineering culture with a heavy emphasis on customer service and technical/consultative sales. 

Job Description

The Logistics Supervisor is directly responsible for the overall Fairview management, accurate upkeep, and execution within the ERP system.  The Logistics Supervisor supervises the daily activities of Shipping, Receiving, Kitting and Inventory.

 Position Responsibilities
Leadership
  • Leadership is a key role in this position; candidates must have experience in setting departmental and individual employee goals, writing evaluations and reviewing them with team members.
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate with employees, creating a partnership, keeping them motivated, productive and successful.
  • Must be able to foresee development for employees, writing a plan and mentoring the employee to help growth both personally and professionally.
  • Must use company’s applicant tracking system, respond to candidates, complete screens, interviews and respond to candidates in a timely manner, following AGC’s hiring process.
  • Must be able to train new employees, following up to make sure that they are receiving what they need to be successful.
  • Must be responsive to employee’s requests, have a clear understanding of the problem and alleviating roadblocks to success.
  • Always be present and available to team members.
  • Manage and lead the daily and yearly physical inventory counts in Fairview.
  • Train, coach, mentor, supervise, motivate, and evaluate members of the logistics team to support organization execution and reduce the supply chains risk.
  • Manage and lead the success of shipping, receiving, kitting and inventory.
  • Manage the department through KPI's, safety and production productivity.
  • Will train members of the team to be cross trained in all positions.
  • Responsible for following all company SOP's.
ERP Management
  • Must become subject matter expert in the following:
  • Tracking semi-finished goods
  • Bin locations
  • Shop floor controls (system driven work orders)
  • Reorder advice, maintaining inventory accuracy
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, if misaligned, communicate with Procurement to resolve
  • WIP (work in progress) tracking, this will be done by completing the kitting process and closing shop floor routers
  • Lead future implementation of bar coding and scanning automation
  • Testing and analyzing any updates and/or bolt on services needed for the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with ERP Support team to create custom reports.
  • Review and use root cause analysis for all inventory related discrepancies.
Inventory Management
  • Perform monthly E & O analysis and report to upper management.
  • Review and maintain relevant ERP system parameters to ensure efficient inventory levels.
  • Review, reconcile and monitor inventory transfers processed by the Fairview team.
  • Process scrap transactions daily, as needed.
  • In future, implement full cycle counting system to reduce the need for annual inventory counts.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum associate's degree or related work experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in ERP systems and inventory management techniques.
  • Previous success in leading a manufacturing production team.
  • Material handling experience (overhead crane, forklift, pallet jacks).
  • .Able to work in and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Able to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
  • Good knowledge of SOP’s and processes with Computer skills including Microsoft Office,
  • Understanding of Lean Production Concepts (5S, Kaizen, Kan-ban, etc)
  • Previous experience with MRP/ERP concepts a plus.
  • Ability to maintain daily HR responsibilities; timecards, time off approvals, etc.
  • Ability to work as a partner with HR on follow up for employee improvement and discipline situations.
  • Must be able to work with employees in setting goals, reviewing goals, writing reviews and presenting to team members.
  • Requires strong oral and written communication skills including good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds as required..
  • Able to communicate fluently in English.

  • $78,000 - $80,000 annually
